9.       Let him help you in his way.

10.   Be the woman God wants you to be.

1.       Pray for him daily. The Bible says, “The effectual, fervent prayers of a righteous man (woman, implied) availeth much.” Take it to the Lord in prayer, He will hear and answer. You will see subtle changes in your man, this will not happen quickly. My husband was not close to the Lord when we married, but he did become the father and husband I knew he could be and he’s now a missionary. We have been married many years. Have faith, he will become the man you need him to be.

Warning- long & sappy!! People say that the words “time flies” are cliché or just silly little words that old people mutter as they speak of times gone by, but I have realized with each passing day that there are no 2 words that ring more true than these words and  I know there is wisdom within..my girl graduates from high school this Sunday…My mind battles with the 2 lines of thought whether I should either mourn for the baby girl she was or celebrate this young lady that I see standing there before me…she is lovely, she is smart and kind. I can still see the little brown- haired girl sitting beside her bed with a pile of books there ready to read with her moma…my little helper, my little rock that kept her moma together time after time…I do look forward to what her future holds I am just sad that I let time just slip by so fast-i should have let things go, stopped worrying and just enjoyed the time we had together, not rushed it away-when you are in the thick of life, you don’t realize that the time of stress that you are in only lasts but a moment, but a speck in time…a professor once told our class as we were prepping Continue reading→

What happened when Jesus said, “It is Finished’?

It’s Easter time and all that means…family, friends, baskets, bunnies, eggs AND, most importantly, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. I hope everyone who reads this will gain some insight as to exactly what Jesus did for us in His death on the cross.

Whether you chose to believe it or not, Jesus died in your (my) place. Before we celebrate the Resurrection (Sunday,) it is good to reflect on the crucifixion (Friday.)  By good, I mean, what really took place on that old rugged cross.

Back in Genesis, in the Bible, (Gen. 3: 8-10) we can see that the perfect plan of God was to have daily fellowship, communion, with His creation, Man. Adam disobeyed God and communion was broken, causing separation from that daily fellowship. Man became accountable for his sin and in the many years that followed, between Adam and Jesus, no one experienced that “full” fellowship with God. Even though, for example, Moses met with God on the mountaintop and David communed with God, God’s Spirit was withheld and only through the tenents of The Tabernacle and the Holy of Holies, could God’s Spirit dwell. This is the face who knows what she feels, but just can’t come up with the words to express it.

This is the face of Autism. Claire is affected by Asperger’s. She is considered to be “high functioning” and has always blended in at school academically. There has never been a need for special Ed classes. She is actually extremely intelligent and quite hilarious at times. Today when I got home from work, she told me that no one talked to her at school today. She felt ignored by some girls when she tried to speak to them. My little girl is so hurt and my heart aches for her.Continue reading→

The Power of Words

“Sticks and stones will break your bones, but words will never hurt you!” I heard this as a child and was not challenged to think it untrue. But it is…untrue, that is. Words can make or break you, kind words can lift up and change lives, unkind or cruel words can tear down and destroy.

My first experience with the power of words was in high school. My family was a typical American family, my mom did not use bad language or yell at us. My sisters were normal girls, with the usual sister fights, my brother was 6 years younger and we all babied him. So, there was mostly quiet in my home. My dad worked hard and had 2 jobs and was usually amiable and ready to relax when he got home at night, although he came from a feisty Italian/Spanish family.  We moved a lot and Mom’s ever positive attitude helped foster a spirit of contentment from each place to the next.
